The Coinhouse adventure began in 2014. Founded by Eric Larchevêque and Thomas France, it was first known as ”La Maison du Bitcoin”. The concept was to offer a physical space in the heart of Paris where the French blockchain and crypto-asset community could gather to share and exchange ideas on these topics.

Quickly, it became possible to buy and sell crypto-assets directly on-site. An online platform was also launched, initially offering the purchase and sale of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

In 2018, La Maison du Bitcoin became independent from Ledger. A new team led by Nicolas Louvet implemented a development strategy focused on simple and fast online services, as well as a service-oriented approach rather than purely transactional. La Maison du Bitcoin then became Coinhouse. In late 2018, Coinhouse Custody Services (CCS), a sister company, was created to offer secure cryptocurrency custody services to both Coinhouse and CCS clients.

Coinhouse established itself as a broker: more expert than neobanks, more present than platforms. 2018 also marked the launch of our Premium support, a dedicated service for key accounts already interested in Bitcoin.

We believe that for crypto to grow, it must be regulated. That's why, starting in 2019, we participated in the drafting of the PACTE law; then came the foundation of ADAN, the Association for the Defense of Digital Assets, which aims to protect the interests of investors and blockchain companies in France. Finally, in 2020, Coinhouse became the first crypto company to obtain the DASP status, Digital Asset Service Provider, from the AMF.

The second one to obtain this status was none other than Coinhouse Custody Services, our sister company specializing in asset custody. It would take another 6 months for other players to catch up and obtain registration.

In 2021, Coinhouse accelerated its development and targeted a European clientele. Now 100% online, its platform offers an intuitive interface and simple, innovative services that allow even the most novice users to invest in the innovative crypto-asset sector.

Our team upgraded by welcoming traditional finance specialists into its research and advisory teams. Finally, offers for businesses were developed and received with success.

In 2023, Coinhouse aims to broaden its audience and offer its services to individuals, with one mission: democratize crypto. Asset Management, a managed account offer, was launched in 2022. It was followed in 2023 by Staking, a true blockchain-native product allowing users to generate daily rewards with their cryptos. Finally, the Euro Account was launched, the first entirely personal bank account dedicated to investing in crypto.

At the end of 2023, Coinhouse updated its pricing grid by drastically reducing fees, especially regarding purchase and exchange, to allow crypto newcomers to choose a local provider without worrying about costs.

In 2024, Coinhouse launched 4 new offers to provide the right level of support to everyone.

In addition to its free accounts, Coinhouse now offers two plans for individuals and two plans for professionals. For individuals, the Investor Offer introduces for the first time an all-in-one offer combining 0% fees, staking reward boosts, and regular content to help understand the crypto market. Investment Opportunities are introduced, offering entry and exit points to guide investors towards trading. The Private Management offer includes all elements of the Investor offer, as well as a dedicated advisor to support key accounts in their investment strategies.

The two offers are adapted with advantages dedicated to businesses, such as appointments with a tax expert, an investment review, and an included euro account.
In June, the company celebrates its 10th anniversary with the entire crypto sector.
